JOB DUTIES

Assist attorneys in immigration cases emphasizing on family-based including Family Petitions, Naturalizations, U-Visas, Hardship Waivers and Removal Defense.


BACKGROUND

Ms. Martinez joined Andrade Legal in November of 2017. Ms. Martinez was born in Michoacan, Mexico and migrated to the U.S. in 2003. Ms. Martinez is a recent graduate from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with emphasis in American Government and Public Policy, she also attended College of Southern Idaho where she completed AA in Pre-Law and Political Science. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Martinez worked with Catholic Charities of Idaho close to three years in the Immigration Legal Services Program. During that time, she assisted with the preparation and filing of Family Petitions, Adjustment of Status, Naturalizations, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, VAWA Self-Petitions and U-Visa cases with USCIS. She also facilitated Naturalization preparation classes.

Ms. Martinez grew up in Wendell, Idaho and moved to Boise in 2014 to continue with her education. She joined ICAN (Idaho Community Action Network) where she did a one-year internship as an Immigration Policy Fellow, during this time she worked on voter registration and GOTV campaigns. She also traveled to Washington D.C to advocate for an immigration reform. Ms. Martinez enjoys working with her community and is currently a board member of the Idaho Hispanic Youth Symposium which serves as a forum for the education advancement of traditionally under-represented Latino Students in Idaho. She is also part of PODER of Idaho (Protecting Our Dreams and Empowering Resilience) and IOP (Idaho Organizing Project) where she has assists with Naturalization Workshops and Immigration Educational forums for the community.

During her free time, Ms. Martinez enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves traveling, photography, hiking and reading.
